The Zodiac event wheel has turned onto my own RL sign: Leo – Fierce. Proud. Loyal.
I’ve been checking out each collection as it arrives, but this was one I wasn’t going to miss. As always, with such things, the majority of items are female-only, but I picked up a few unisex items, including jewellery (to be featured soon) and this amazing lion tattoo.
The Out of Africa tattoo is by White Widow, who are fast becoming a favourite store of mine for tats. Ladies will be pleased to know this comes with a (sold separately) Lolas Tango applier (don’t ask me; I’m not exactly a boob expert, but I gather that these things are important these days *g*) but the basic tattoo works perfectly on guys, too.
I’ve gone full-on brown/tan/gold with this look, carrying the leonine theme over with IKON’s Ascension Eyes in… well, ‘leonine’. And, since he’s a tribal creature, I added one of The Plastik’s Soul Ink Reloaded facial tattoos. Most of these are tintable, and I went with the Oue tat, and tinted it gold.
Keeping to the ‘tribal’ remit, I dug deep for makeup. Mock’s Party All Night/Indifference set of eyeshadows works fabulously on male avatars. I’ve found that some shadows are created for higher, thinner brows and don’t carry over to generally-lower male brows, but these ones do. Skell’s wearing the ‘copper lollipop’ shade. Over the top of that, I’ve laid an eyeliner decal from a huge set given to Nomine subscribers at Christmas (aka: sorry, but I don’t think it’s for sale).
Skell’s belt is from Sey: the Double Hole Belt in ‘skin’. This comes with a HUD that has multiple options for textures.
For piercings, again you find Skell in Pekka. The Reckless Unisex piercing and Latum Ear Piercing are just two more great examples of work by (deep breath while you try to spell this, Skell) Kathya Szczepanski.
Lastly on this close-up, Skell’s hair is an older style (still available) by Birth: the ‘plaits’ style of Hawk. And the hairbase is from Amacci’s freebie pack, just inside the hair section of the store. Skell’s using the mahogany shade to match the embers shade of the Birth hair.
We head back to Mandala (again!) for accessories. I love these Sinra2 bracelet sets, which come with cuffs as well as bracelets.
And the ring is from the Fading Sun and Raised Moon pair by KOSH:
I picked up these snake-patterned Wild Jeans – and about half a dozen other pairs of equally-exquisite – system pants from Gizza, at a large event several years back (my inventory properties tell me March 2011) and they’re still abso-fucking-lutely awesome.
I’ve put with them a brand new item from Razor: the texture-change Rebel Button Up. This open shirt (which passes equally well as a jacket) comes with a HUD that contains ten colour-changes, all in dark, muted shades. For the price, this is a fabulous item that you’ll probably be able to match to almost any outfit:
The boots are Senzafine’s Callisto Boots in espresso. Like many mesh boots, these are a single item, and come in both sized and unrigged (which are stretchable very simply, ensuring a perfect fit and also offering the option to make them as tall as you want, up to knee height).
