He said, “Sit back down where you belong: in the corner of my bar with your high heels on.”
Good evening, sir. Would you come this way, please? We have the android that you selected on display. Is this model suitable?
Excellent. It is arriving in the preparation room right now. Just a few tweaks and it will be ready for you.
Here is the keycard to your private room. Your service android will be delivered to you within the next two minutes. Please make yourself comfortable and, once it has been delivered, it will see to your every need. Should you change your mind about its gender, it is able to mutate on request.
“Good evening, sir. I am your requested intimate services delivery from Adastra Industries. I have been programmed with the name Ardav, but should you wish to address me by a different name please do so.”
“I have been instructed to inform you that, although you have selected androgyne as a gender preference, that can be overridden by a simple command at any time.”
“You wish to sit and talk for a moment? Of course, sir.”
“It sounds as though life has been stressful for you lately, sir. Would you like to make yourself a little more comfortable?”
I’m gonna marry the night. I won’t give up on my life. I’m a warrior queen. Live passionately tonight.
Just for a break from all the futuristic stuff I decided to don feathers and fluff and glam it up to the max. New releases from IKON, Ane, The Plastik, and The Stringer Mausoleum are all included in this one, together with some fun outlandishness from—where else?—Faster Pussycat/Velvet Elvis.
The Charm Eyes are a stunning new mesh line from IKON. There are always wearable demos available in the store (stamped with a small logo) but if you join the free group you’ll find the brown pair of these eyes out as a group gift in the store at the moment. I picked these up in my usual shades: glass, industrial, and hazel.
Yeah, that brocade is a bit busy, isn’t it? Even more so if I were to cam out and show you this lacy catsuit, so let’s go all-white for the background from now on. (It’s either that or I’ll be half-camouflaged…)
Oh hell YES XD
I was wandering around the Faster Pussycat/Velvet Elvis store earlier today, headed upstairs, and made a beeline for this Crow coat first, swiftly followed by the Vampire Boy lace catsuit. I made copies of the sleeves and attached them to my lower legs, because I felt it needed a bit of swish down there, too. Can’t beat a bit of swish, right?
The End of Time ankle boots are by Ane and they’re out at The Chapter Four at the moment. Each pack contains two colours, each in both rigged and unrigged. Guys, we can wear the unrigged versions, but be aware that they won’t follow the line of your ankles and feet like rigged ones do, especially if you’re using poses or animations that twist or lock your ankles (like, uh, I’m doing right now, dancing along to Gaga like a lunatic in my photo skybox. *cough*)
I’ve tinted the feathery-floufy bits a bit darker, as they were initially a dark grey and I wanted them black. You’re going to need some underwear with this catsuit; not to preserve your modesty but instead to hint that you have something to hide at all! (Ah, don’t we boys just love being Ken dolls under it all, eh?) I’ve gone for an old favourite clothing layer sheer brief from Vitamen.
The final new release in this post is from The Stringer Mausoleum, at this month’s Genre. I loved these makeups, and ended up nabbing the fatpack.
Catsuit: Faster Pussycat/Velvet Elvis – Vampire Boy Lace Catsuit [ honey.bender ] – sleeves edited to ankles as well as wrists ;-)
Coat: Faster Pussycat/Velvet Elvis – The Crow Feather Coat [ honey/bender ]
Boots: Ane – End Of Time Ankle Boots (carbon) [ anemysk.karu ] – at The Chapter Four
Good evening, recruit, and welcome to the Motherboard. I have been assigned to take you briefly around the outer circuits and ensure that you are familiar with the Datastream before your first set of neuromech plugs are implanted. Please step onto this diffusion pad.
Ah, yes. Your first diffusion, was it? I do apologise. I shall have words with the training centre, because they’re supposed to inform you of these things before you are sent to us. It can be unnerving to realise that your atoms are being dis-assembled from the feet-upwards. Watching yourself slowly disappear is quite fascinating once you’re accustomed to it, I find.
Anyway, we are now in your relaxation quarters. As you can see, there is a pleasant view of deep space up here, and all basic necessities are catered for. When you are not plugged in you may rest here, sleep, and cleanse yourself. The entertainment screens can be activated by plugging into this port on the couch.
Visitors may be entertained in your quarters, but no plug-to-plug couplings are permitted without prior approval from DataCentre. You understand that we must ensure the purity of the circuits. Every time an illegal coupling takes place there is a high risk of glitching in the Datastream, and that can prove fatal for those plugged into it at the time.
I see that you have been equipped with our latest wheel boots. Have you had a chance to acquaint yourself with their capabilities? They have been especially-designed to ride the Datastream at high speed, although initially, you will perform only short-range tasks for a few weeks.
The diffusion pad again, if you please…
Mmm, a bit more fun the second time around, isn’t it? This is the main arrival area of DataCentre. It’s fairly quiet at this time of day, as the circuits are running at maintenance-level activity during these hours.
This is one of our Datajets, which you may be trained to use if you prove to have an aptitude for neuromech. These are the next level up from high-speed Datastream running, but they require intense concentration to operate. Our neuromech pilots only run in four-hour shifts every other day, and they require encephalic decompression after each run. It’s intensive work but incredibly exhilarating, or so they tell me.
Up there you can see our artificial moon. We find that newcomers consider it comforting to have something from their homeworld hanging in the sky. It’s a generic model, but once you’re plugged-in it can be programmed to resemble any of the moons from your home planet.
Me? Why are you interested in me, recruit? Oh, my colouring? Hm, yes. Well, the silvered colouring that you have right now will slowly be infused with the colours of the Datastream sector that you are working in, so you will actually be a varied hue of tones as you progress through the ranks. My colouring will take you many years to achieve.
Back to the diffusion pad with you.
This is the neuromech facility where your plugs will be implanted. It’s a painless procedure, and over with in a matter of minutes. Our surgeons are at the top of their field, and you’ll feel only a small ache for a few days after the implantation. You will receive a plug at each inner wrist, one at the nape of the neck, and one at the base of the spine. Depending on where you are, you will use any number of these to plug into the Datastream.
Don’t look so nervous, recruit. You have been selected for a duty that few are privileged to achieve. Back on your homeworld you were nobody, but up here you have the chance to assist in the running of the network that keeps the entire planetary system working smoothly. You may only start out with what seem like menial jobs, but with aptitude and a willingness to learn you will progress to levels like mine, where you are working with the very forces of nature itself, so chin up!
I must return to work now, but if you stay here someone will fetch you in the next few minutes to have your plugs implanted. I have to go and make a few tweaks to that moon, so that your homeworld can be represented by it. I think I forgot to mention that the moon is my handiwork. Beautiful, isn’t it? I’m quite proud of it.
I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for you, recruit. Work hard and you might one day find yourself apprenticed to me.
There are so many things that I don’t understand.
There’s a world within me that I cannot explain.
Many rooms to explore, but the doors look the same Where are the locks to try the key?
I am lost, I can’t even remember my name. And I wonder why.
Futurewave, my sartorial darlings, is upon us. It’s taken me a couple of days to start blogging it (the event opened on Friday) but you’ve got until March 1st to lower your visors, fire up your jetpacks, and energiiiiise into Cursed to avail yourselves of some incredible stuff.
Guys, I’m going to say this up-front: you will have to dig around for male clothing. It’s there, but the majority of the clothing items are for the ladies. Where us menfolk really do well is in accessories, makeup, buildings, and vehicles, so it’s well worth a visit (even if you’re not a freaky boy like me).
I do have some clothing to show you (in future posts; kind of apt for Futurewave, non?) but today I’m focusing on a few of the accessories and body parts available at the event.
First up? This stunning skin and tattoo from Fallen Gods. Available in male and female versions, the Materica skin is the kind of worn metal that the averge cyborg might be sporting after decades of service to humanity. HUDs for many mesh bodies and body parts are included, and the CIRCUIT tattoo is tintable and available in several opacities.
The Tacticool Shades from Rab Labs are customisable with any colour you fancy, and manually adjustable. Another great unisexy item from the event. Simple to adjust and useful for those moments when you just can’t find the right eyes you want for a specific look ;-)
The Bionique Necklace is from Bliensen + MaiTai, and I’m actually wearing the white version. It was a little bright for the look I was going for, but it’s modifiable, so you can tint it to any colour you like. I wanted it darker and more worn.
The Takea Boots are by Sakide, and freaky boys you’ll be wanting these! Modifiable via scripted menu, I got them fitting Skell’s feet with just a couple of clicks and a miniscule sideways adjustment. A HUD is included for colouring the straps, but I just kept them black ’cause I’m not exactly aiming for a colouriffic kind of image here…
The hair (not available at Futurewave) is by EMO-tions, and the coat is from an excellent designer whose work I’ve really been enjoying lately: ZED (also not at Futurewave). This long coat is beautifully-rigged and flows nicely with all kinds of animations.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing around with the ‘Thing’ from NanTra. What Is This Thing? comes packed with poses (a couple of them won’t work for leggy giants like Skell, but most of them adjusted beautifully). Added to this, there’s a photo contest for this item, so get your snaps in to see if you can win up to L$1000 in store credit.
And, finally, I’m going to move on to this amazing Holobox from Amelie Barbour at Futurewave. It looks cool even without Advanced Lighting enabled, but click those shadows on and you’ll be wanting to scroll your way through a gazillion Windlight settings as you snap loads of pictures. Seriously, the lighting in this thing is superb. Unfortunately for this post, using glowy Windlight and then reducing the image size makes for some blotchy pictures, so check it out yourself at the event. There’s a rezzed demo available for you to walk around.
Yeah, I’m upside-down in this one (fantastic poses from NanTra and Rook at Futurewave throughout this post). That’s the ceiling light ‘below’ me. And bugger me backwards if I didn’t manage to edit this one with different colours. *headscratch*
